Who is this guy?
The name Cann is derived from Caen in Normandy, whose ruler, Robert, Duke of Caen, joined with his friend, neighbour and liege lord, William, Duke of Normandy, in the successful invasion and conquest of England in 1066. As a result, he received lands in the south west of England. In the ensuing years the fortunes of the Cann family ebbed and flowed with the uncertainties of political tides: the Wars of the Roses, punk rock, Thatcherism and New Labour.
